Why your flashlight goes out when you open the camera
It comes up the same way every time: how do I keep the flashlight on with the camera? You turn the torch on from quick settings, open the camera to photograph what you're looking at, and the light goes out. Turn it back on and it goes out again, or the toggle simply refuses to respond while the camera is running.
Nothing is broken. The LED beside your camera is the camera's flash unit, not a separate torch, so when a camera app claims the camera it claims the flash with it. Setting flash to "on" doesn't help either — it fires at the instant of capture, which lights the photo but not the preview. You are still aiming blind, and you still can't move the phone to get your own hand's shadow out of the shot.
